September 24, 2010
SUNDRE, ALTA.— Three people were killed when a single engine plane crashed into a farmer’s field in central Alberta, says the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
The plane went down just before 2 p.m. near Sundre, northwest of Calgary.
RCMP Const. Wes Bensmiller says there are no survivors.
A father and son who live just a few 100 metres north of the crash site were outside and saw the plane go down.
The son told CTV that he saw the plane spiralling towards the ground, then there was a massive fire, with flames shooting up in the air.
Police have not said what type of plane crashed or why it might have gone down.
